Benefit recipients can challenge changes Did know have the right to challenge negative

Thursday, August 30, 2018

Did you know you have the right to challenge negative changes to your Medicaid, food stamps, or other public benefits by request- ing a fair hearing? The fair hearing process is your opportunity to tell your side of the story and have the issue decided by a neutral hearing officer who acts like a judge. You also have the right to be represented by an attorney at the fair hearing. But don’t delay, you have to ask for a fair hearing before it’s too late or you won’t get one at all.

For more information, visit the Public Benefits section on www.MontanaLawHelp.org. If you can’t find the information you want, click on the LiveHelp button. Or, apply for help from Montana Legal Services Association at mtlsa.org or 1-800-666-6899.
