Jack Ruben Frickel

Jack Frickel passed away August 14, 2018, surrounded by family in Long Beach, California, fi- nally succumbing to a long and courageous four-year battle with lung cancer.

Jack was born March 22, 1950 to parents Ruben and Leona Frickel in Billings, Montana. He was raised in Laurel, Montana, graduating from Laurel High School in 1968. He thoroughly enjoyed reunifying with classmates at his recent 50 year class reunion in Laurel.

Jack was always a very likable and outgoing guy. As a young man he was mischievous , and of course, a high school “jock.” As many young men in the late 1960s, he had to go to California to see the world in 1970. This was supposed to be just a fun trip for a little while, but he met a young Italian girl, Diane Fabrocini, who stole his heart. Of course, they eventually married in 1975, and Jack never returned to Montana except to visit.

Not completely a “hippie,” his strong work ethic drove him to succeed in the big city. While working full time to support his family, he attended several community night schools, and graduated with a business degree from Pepperdine University in 1983.

Jack’s business expertise, drive, intelligence, confidence and fairness led to many enterprises, investments and achievements. He climbed the corporate ladder from the ground up at Xero Manufacturing, eventually buying his own manufacturing company, Electrorack, never fully retiring until his health deteriorated.

Jack and Diane loved to travel. They travelled the world fulfilling all of our travel dreams, includ- ing Europe, Indonesia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Ireland, Mexico, Antarctica and many U.S. trips. Jack always made new friends wherever he travelled.

Jack is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Christopher (Sharon); grandson’s Kyle and Colton of Rosmoore, Calif.; sister, Linda Emineth, Laurel; brothers, Miles Hollowell, Cody, Wyo.; Frank Hollowell, Nashua, NH; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by both parents; brother Richard Frickel; mother-and-father-in-law, Vincent and Looue Fabrocini; and brother-in-law Don Emineth.

A celebration of life service was given at The Old Ranch Country Club, Seal Beach, Calif., on August 24th.

Jack, you will be missed by everyone you have met and loved. We all love you; rest in peace.
