Harold Paul Albarez

Harold Paul Albarez

Harold Paul Albarez, of Laurel, Montana, passed away on January 12, 2018. He was 75 years old.
Harold was born on May 26, 1942 in Belle Rose, La. He was the youngest of seven siblings and the only one actually born in a hospital. He graduated from Assumption High School in Napoleonville, La. in 1961. The next year he joined the National Guard and was on active duty for four years. He later married Brenda Cedotal and had two sons, Dirk and Jody. Harold worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s office for many years and then retired. After retirement, he realized he wanted to spend more time with his first granddaughter, Amber, in Bozeman, Mont. He lived there for about five years and then moved back to Louisiana to be closer to his sister and brothers. He lived with his brother, Donald for a few years until Donald passed away. He then decided he wanted to live closer to his younger grandchildren, Ashley and Shawn. He moved to Laurel, where his son, Jody and his wife Torrie live. For 18 months he was able to do what he loved—watch Ashley play softball and Shawn play soccer, baseball, and flag football.
Harold was a kind and generous man who would do anything for anyone. He always greeted others with a smile and a hug or handshake. After retiring, he made it his mission in life to spend time with his grandkids and watch them grow. Although he was born and raised in Louisiana, Montana was his second home and held a special place in his heart. Before he moved to Montana, he had made many trips driving across country to visit his family here. This is the place in which he wanted to spend the rest of his life and he got his wish. Harold is loved by many people and will be greatly missed by those who were privileged to know him and be touched by his warm heart and gentle soul.
Harold is survived by his two sons, Dirk Albarez of New Orleans, La., and Jody Albarez and his wife Torrie, of Laurel; his grandchildren, Amber Halstad-Albarez of Bozeman, and Ashley and Shawn Albarez of Laurel; his sister Dale Mabile of Gonzales, La.; his brother Junius of Denham Springs, La.; his brother Terry of Pride, La. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Celestin and Rosa Albarez of Gonzales, La. His brother Charles of Donaldsonville, La.; his brother Donald of Geismar, La. and his infant brother, Joseph of Belle Rose, La.
