Richard Allen Lehman

Richard Allen Lehman passed away at the age of 66, on October 17, 2017 with family members at his side. The first of four children, Rick was born March 3, 1951 to Walt and Diane Lehman in Billings, Mont. He was baptized into the Christian faith on April 8, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Billings.
He attended elementary school in Billings and High School in Laurel, Mont. Upon graduation from Laurel High School in 1969, Rick enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Naples, Italy, serving as a Naval Radioman.
Rick was married to Dyanne Halvorson and they had one son, Tobi. He later married Sonja Wolf
and they had two sons, Jacob and Richard.
Rick worked for the United States Postal Service in Laurel, retiring early at the age of 61 due to the progressive illness that eventually took his life.
Rick was a real gentleman with a big heart and had an accepting, good nature toward others. He especially loved the sweetness of little children, listening to music, doing some fishing on the Yellowstone, some camping or hiking the mountains, and hunting for and collecting rocks of unique shapes and colors. He was blessed with artistic ability, both in artwork and in writing, especially poetry.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Tobi. He is survived by his sons Jacob and Richard (Carmileta), his grandchildren Jonathan, Lily, and little Ricky; his siblings Gloria Robertus (Tim), Tim Lehman (Teresa), Colleen Lehman; half-brother Brad Chilcott (Denise) and step-siblings Vicki Chilcott Hull (Les) and Mike Chilcott.
Rick’s family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff at CedarWood Villa in Red Lodge, Mont. Your service of compassionate care for our beloved father and brother will never be forgotten.
Cremation has taken place. Rick’s funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 1p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Laurel, Mont. (908 5th Ave.).
