The J-Hawk volleyball team split matches in their final week leading up to the District tournament, losing to Red Lodge in five games last Tuesday before closing out Roundup at home on Saturday

Coach Colette Webber said the loss to Red Lodge was a positive for the team.

“It showed us where we were weak and what we need to work on going into Districts. We knew they would be tougher the second time around [and] it was a hard fought battle. We didn’t adjust quick enough at times and that hurt us,” she said.

The team bounced back on Saturday and defeated Roundup in three games; 25-20, 25-19 and 25-12.

Saturday was Senior Night and Webber said it was also important because it was Pack it Pink night.

“It was a great night supporting a family in our community that is struggling with cancer. We played like the family we are, and enjoyed the game of volleyball as a team.”

Joliet split matches with Red Lodge over the season and grabbed the #2 seed in the 4B District volleyball tournament Friday and Saturday in Huntley. Huntley Project got the #1 seed and Red Lodge is #3. The J-Hawks get a first round bye and play the winner of Red Lodge versus Shepherd tomorrow at 3 p.m.
