Joliet High School and Middle School cross country teams had a successful meet in St. Labre on Saturday.
Coach Rachel Herrington said it was “cold and rainy but they all rose above and completed the race with excellent results.”
Herrington said “all the boys running Varsity met their personal records for the season.”
Jacob May took second overall with a time of 17:12. Dawson Bancroft finished at 20:15, Triston Snell 21:56; Brigham Smith 22:24 and Riley Simons at 26:06.
“Both Riley and Triston were running their first Varsity race, and both put forth an amazing effort,” Herrington said.
On the girls side, Megan Deines completed her varsity race with a time of 26:45, two seconds behind Jalyn Songstad who had 26:43.  McKendra O’Dore finished at 27:30, a personal best for the season.  Emily Deines ran JV with a time of 28:50.
The middle school runners also competed in the meet, running a 1 1/2 mile race.
“Bryce Williams took 13th place with a time of 9:53.  This is his new personal record for the season. Dakota Weidner also did very well with a time of 20:48.  For the middle school girls Kaitlyn Bancroft also achieved a new personal record for the season with a time of 12:29,” Herrington said.
Joliet’s next race is at home and Herrington said, “We are looking forward to hosting our own meet Saturday.”
