It’s construction season in Montana and from all appearances, Laurel is having a boom. In addition to normal upkeep and improvements, street crews widening SE 4th St., and city workers patching streets, there are a number of new buildings going up. The new construction under development includes a mixture of residential and commercial use properties.

720 1st Ave.

This medical office triplex is drawing lots of interest, mostly because one of the occupants will be Domino’s Pizza. Domino’s is advertising for employees online at indeed.com, as well as on social media sites including Facebook. For the Laurel store, the pizza chain is seeking delivery drivers, customer service representatives and assistant managers. To apply, text Jesssica Doyle at (316) 813-3979, or email her at jessicawithdominos@gmail.com, or text Terry Youngblood at (406) 839-6126, or email him at terryatdominos@gmail.com. To apply at Dominos.com, applicants have to create an account.

With the addition of Dominos, Laurel will have four eateries devoted primarily to providing pizza. Like the others, Dominos will offer sides, including wings and salads.

Dominos has not announced an opening date.

Main St.

Both the F. O. E. or Eagles Club building on W. Main and Thomae Lumber on E. Main have been working on new exterior building facades.

313 W. Main

Discovered underneath the Eagles old facade was even older—and well preserved—wood siding and a sign for the L.L. Club. There are numerous mentions in the Laurel Outlook in years past about events hosted by the L.L. Club, but many of those were held in homes. Folks have suggested L.L. stood for Laurel Ladies, although it’s never referred to by anything other than L.L. Anyone who can shed more light on history of the building or the club is asked to contact the Outlook.

101-109 W. 7th

Just off on W. Main St., Town and Country completed construction some time ago and opened a new Cenex gas station, complete with a convenience store and casino.

8th Ave.

Three four-plexes are going up and by the looks of it, are about ready for occupancy.

3rd Ave.

Two duplexes are under construction between Main St. and 1st St, near the Laurel Safety Complex. They are being build by JW Roylance Construction, Inc., out of Salmon, Idaho.
