Registration for 2nd Annual Sam’s Run is open

Courtesy photo.  Sam’s Run participants are seen in 2016. Registration for the 2nd Annual 5K race on August 19 is now open with proceeds benefiting Step In, a program designed to increase community awareness of mental health issues.

Sam’s Run is scheduled for August 19 in Laurel. The race benefits Step In, a program designed to increase community awareness of suicide prevention and the importance of mental health. Participants can run, jog or walk the course and enjoy the after-race activities.
The 5K race is a loop beginning and ending at the Laurel Sports complex starting at 8 a.m.
• Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt
• Free kid’s run starts at 7:45 a.m. 400m (Ages 6-9), 100m (5 and under)
• Community pancake breakfast and silent auction 8-10 a.m.
• Step In resources on site
