Dodgers sweep Richland Co. and Glendive

The Laurel Dodgers took two games from the Richland County Patriots on Sunday, winning the first game in a 10-0 shutout.

Carson Hoke pitched a complete game, giving up four hits while striking out six.

Cameron Schriver and Dawson Cortese both homered and Cortese added a triple. Each player had three runs batted in.

In the 3 p.m. game Dawson Cortese hit two home runs and had seven RBIs as the Dodgers pounded the Patriots on 17 hits and 22 runs, closing them out in 5 1/2 innings.

Deklan Harper went 5-5 from the plate and drove two runners home. Brendan LeClair had four RBIs and Noah Gunther added three.

Chase Feller picked up the win in five innings giving up one earned run on five hits, while walking five and striking out four.

Last Thursday, the Dodgers took two games at Glendive starting with Carson West pitching a superb 1-hit shutout.

West’s near-perfect game included eight strikeouts and no walks.

Eight Dodger players got hits with Braden McIlvan and Keagan Campbell each having three. Carson Hoke led the team with four RBIs in the 17-0 blowout.

The 7 p.m. game was closer, with the Dodgers giving up five runs in the final two innings, but they held on to win 13-7.

Chase Feller and Deklan Harper led the Dodgers with two hits each, with Dawson Cortese homering and accounting for five RBIs.

Cameron Schriver earned the win for the Dodgers. He gave up seven runs on ten hits while striking out four.
