Barbara and Jim Haskins, 1967

The family of Jim and Barbara Haskins are happy to help their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents celebrate 50 years of marriage. The couple was married February 10, 1967, at the Methodist Church in Superior, Montana. Their anniversary celebration will be at the Laurel Senior Center.
Jim and Barbara’s first home together was in Nelingan, Germany. where he was stationed while serving in the U.S. Army. After their return to the states they lived in Missouri. Their first child, James, was born in Missouri. After Jim’s discharge the family moved back to Denver, where the couple met and had been high school sweethearts. Another son was born in Denver, Lonell. After the death of this child they soon moved to Billings where Jim started working at the Post Office. Their third son, Robert, was born four days after moving to Billings. Next followed two daughters, Mary and Barbie, in the following years. Barbara was also an employee of the Post Office. She was a postmaster in Shepherd and Bridger and a supervisor at the Billings Post Office. After 37 years at the post office, Jim retired and they both are now enjoying retirement. Much of their time is spent traveling for Jim’s retirement hobby of making banks out of P.O. Box Doors and selling them at arts and crafts shows in the western states.
The couple’s children, James (Lisa), Robert (Carol), Mary and Barbie (Tim), as well as their 12 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren wish them all the happiness in the world.
