Joliet’s Shayla Webber uses her wits and speed to burn past her defender in the team’s low-scoring 29-25 victory over Harlowton.

After a four-point total first half scoring output by Joliet wasn’t looking very good. Luckily the girls have enough talent to come back. They pulled out a 29-25 win against Harlowton.
They needed the win too, as their pack-the-gym game against Big Timber was cancelled and was rescheduled for their home game Feb.11 at Red Lodge.
“It was a frustrating game, but we stuck with it,” said Joliet coach John Nelson. “We pulled a nice win against a very good team. It was a great motivational win because we have struggled in close games this year, but we found a way to win this one.”
Vanessa Nowak had nine and Danni Nardinger had eight to lead the way for the J-Hawks in a win they desperately needed.
The girls pulled it together in the second half by outscoring Harlowton 25-14.
With only two games left in the season before Districts the girls have a very important game this week in their conference matchup with the struggling Roundup team.
They play Roundup this Friday, away. at 7 p.m.
