The Park City boys’ basketball team has been very talented from the beginning, the record just hasn’t been consistent with that. Recently, however moments showing how good they really are have become more evident.
Panther head coach Roger Heimbigner couldn’t be more pleased.
“Offensively we did some nice things this past weekend with balanced scoring on both nights,” he said.
His team beat Bridger last Friday 53-43 in a very strong effort on both ends of the court.
Rylan Gauthier had 18, followed closely behind by Connor McNeil with 10, Tucker Zuhoski with 13 and Talon Johnstone with 12.
“We came out strong and played with confidence for four quarters and had our first complete game of the year,” added Heimbigner complimentary of the team.
They outscored Bridger in every single quarter and never let their guard down in the impressive win.
“If we play at that level for the rest of the season we should continue to have positive results,” said Heimbigner.
With a team as talented as the Panthers these are the types of games they must win for the remainder of the season.

The Panthers came out firing on all cylinders last Saturday in their 63-51 win over Absarokee.
Park City played a vicious three quarters against the young Absarokee team, outscoring them 51-28 and had a very decisive 23 point lead heading into the final period.
Absarokee has no seniors on their squad and have spent most of the season learning to play at a varsity level. It hasn’t been easy, but they are getting better.
Saturday night they almost pulled themselves to a win from a huge deficit. They outscored the Panthers 23-12 in the final period and ended up only losing by 12 when it could have been 30.
Panther Lane Lowell had a standout game with 18 points after sitting out with an injury on Friday against Bridger. Rylan Gauthier again reached double digits with 17 and Talon Johnstone added 10 to the mix.
“We will go into this week working to get better on both ends of the floor,” said Panther coach Roger Heimbigner.
His team currently sits on a three-game winning streak and are looking very good as of late.
Their next game is Friday, Feb. 3, at Red Lodge, 7:30 p.m. They already played Red Lodge earlier in the season and easily came away with the victory. They should have no problem extending their winning streak and continue on, finishing the season on a strong note.
