Who isn’t impressed when walking into Laurel High School?
The trophy cases that greet visitors are full of decades and decades of athletic and academic success.
As a person walks into the gym, the south wall is adorned with outlines of Montana with too many to count state championships. In fact there are so many LHS state championships on the wall, there is almost no space left for more.
All in all, that is not a bad problem to have.
The Laurel Rotary Club and the LHS Booster Club are beginning the process of establishing a LHS Hall of Fame to recognize individuals, coaches and teams that have contributed to the success of LHS.
The LHS Hall of Fame won’t be limited to just athletic achievement, the organizing committee decided to also recognize achievers in the arts, speech and drama, etc.
The committee also feels that LHS alum that have achieved notable success after leaving school should also be recognized.

Here’s where you can help.
The committee is asking for the public to help not only nominate people for the LHS Hall of Fame but to help determine how to make the Hall of Fame the best representation of success possible.
As the Rotary Club and LHS Boosters have heard during the year this idea has been kicked around, the LHS Hall of Fame is overdue.
If you have any suggestions, please email them to: publisher@laureloutlook.com or just drop them by the Laurel Outlook office on Main Street.
The tremendous popularity of the LHS all class YearsBook last year as well as Dennis Gaub’s nice book on the 1969 boys’ basketball champions, seemed to have stoked LHS school pride.
The LHS Hall of Fame committee hopes to help capture that pride by recognizing those who made a difference at Laurel High School.
