12/01/16 - Electronics are choice of thieves this week

The following represent a portion of the calls responded to by officers from the Laurel Police Department. Unless otherwise indicated, all cases are considered under investigation. Anyone with information about these or other crimes are encouraged to call the LPD at 628-8737.

On Nov. 15, at 9:05 a.m., a theft of $500 from a savings account was reported. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 16, at 5:35 p.m., a theft was reported from Tractor and Supply Co. A male about 30 years old was seen picking up a Traveller’s brand 300 watt inverter valued at $279. He walked out of the store with the merchandise.
On Nov. 17, at 2:50 p.m., a resident reported someone had put a damaging substance in the gas tank of a Jeep. The allegation was verified by a mechanic. The case is under investigation.
On Nov. 18, at 5:14, a burglary was reported at Heidi’s Coffee Cabin. The door was broken and electronic equipment was stolen. The missing equipment is valued at $1,250. There was about $500 in damage. The incident is under investigation.
On Nov. 18, at 3:53 p.m. a theft was reported from 1st National Pawn. The case is ongoing.
On Nov. 21, at 10:27 a.m. the theft of a two-tap cooler/dispenser valued at $485 was reported. It was located at a pawn shop. A suspect has been identified and the case is ongoing.
On Nov. 21, at 1:50 p.m., LPD officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct related to the car-hauler strike. Reportedly a man pulled up in a vehicle and began an argument. No charges have been filed at this time.
On Nov. 21, at 3:40 p.m. a theft was reported from the 2700 block of Topeka Dr. A number of items were stolen including a play station, a 32” television, several games, an i-phone 5 and an Acer laptop. The case is under investigation.
On Nov. 22, at 7:18 p.m., police responded to a fight. A 16-year-old Laurel female was charged with assault.
On Nov. 25. at 12:49 p.m., Walmart reported two female shoplifters. Two juveniles were seen putting cosmetics in their bags. They left the store with $174 in merchandise. The 16-year-old females, both from Worland, Wyo., were arrested, transported to the department, cited into youth court and released to their parents.
On Nov. 26, at 11:07 a.m., a burglary was reported on the 300 block of E. 1st St. The front door was forced and check, and iPad and a mini iPad were stolen.
On Nov. 26, at 12:22 p.m., criminal mischief was reported on the 600 block of W. Main. A window was broken out of the back of a work van. The case is under investigation.

Stillwater County
On Nov. 22, at 4 a.m., a resident reported his black dodge pickup was stolen from Park City Car and Truck Stop Zip Trip. Vehicle had a loaded 40 Smith and Wesson handgun in center console. License plates were spotted on a different vehicle the next day and the truck was later found and returned to owner. Investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 24, at 4:35 p.m., resident reported that a window at the PCFD on First ave. was broken. Shards of glass prevented burglary from occurring and nothing was reported stolen.
On Nov. 24, at 4:42 p.m., at 485 McFarland Rd., resident stated someone had broken into his house during the day and stole a lot of guns. Officers asked resident to make list of serial numbers of missing guns. One .44 has been found and returned to owner, others are still missing.
On Nov. 25, at 7:33 a.m., Laurel PD requested assistance for male in 70’s who was having a seizure and had a history of strokes. Man was in dining room of Best Western and was eventually transported to Billings Clinic.
On Nov. 26. at 3:14 p.m., officer pulled over a vehicle on I-90 mm 424 for speeding and failing to yield for emergency vehicle. Driver was from Poland and was issued a warning.
On Nov. 26, at 11:03 a.m., a resident states he was left on the side of the road at high speeds off of Interstate 90 going EB. No injuries.
On Nov. 26, at 9:39 a.m., at the 811 block of W fourth St. in Laurel a 66 year old female was reported by Laurel PD to be having seizures and coming in and out of consciousness. Columbus Ambulance transported her to Billings Clinic.
On Nov. 27, at 3:30 a.m., a resident reported an unoccupied vehicle by the shed next to the Park City Car and Truck Stop, Zip Trip.
On Nov. 27, at 9:10 p.m., resident reported a two vehicle collision off 419 Interstate 90 HWY. First vehicle was crushed up after a rollover second vehicle was off to side of road.
On Nov. 27, at 2:07 p.m., a stolen vehicle went on a high speed chase reaching speeds of over 100 m.p.h. Down I-90 from Park city, into Laurel and eventually into Billings. Finally pulled over at 31st St. South in Billings. Driver was identified as a male.
