Wrestlers need dedicated practice space

As a student and wrestler at Laurel Middle School, I was very disappointed and concerned when I saw the newspaper with the results of the school bond. I asked my mom what we would do about all the changes that need made and will not happen now. She told me we will continue doing the best we can, but it will be tough.
I weigh 190 pounds and I am 5 foot 11 inches tall. The LMS wrestlers practice every night in the balcony of the bleachers at Laurel High School. That space is about 80 feet long and 15 feet wide. There are bleachers on one side that are very painful when we fall on them. On the other side is the railing for the edge of the balcony. The railing is not very high and it is scary to think we could go over the edge if we are not careful. When my partner and I practice it is hard not to fall on the light weights. Also, if the gym is being used for another activity we have to move to the deport where we have to move the tables out of the way and set up the mats, losing practice time.
My coach tells me that we are the only class A school which does not have a dedicated 38 by 38 foot space with a 5-foot safely space in all of Montana. This puts our team at a disadvantage, not to mention at risk physically; a room dedicated to wrestling would help us all out a lot.
It is my hope that our community will invest in my education and character growth with supporting our school district.
