Wild & Scenic Film Festival set for Billings

The ninth annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival is returning to the Babcock Theatre in Billings on Sept. 8. Northern Plains Resource Council, a family agriculture and conservation group, presents 11 short films that inform, inspire and ignite stewardship of our land, air, water, and people.
This year’s festival includes films about subjects as wide-ranging as backpacking in Utah’s canyon country, the evolution of skiing as a sport in China, and even regenerative ranching.
One of the films, Yellowstone’s Northern Range, is about an area in Montana that is the winter range of the largest elk herd in Yellowstone National Park. It also is perhaps the most carnivore-rich area in North America.
The festival is Friday, Sept. 8, with the films beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 in advance. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.
Carter’s microbrews will be available.
