Joliet downed Columbus at home on Thursday and Shepherd on the road on Friday in what Coach Colette Webber called a “great weekend of wins.” 

The J-Hawks beat Columbus in three games, 25-16, 25-14 and 25-23. Joelle Luoma had eight kills and Vanessa Nowak had seven. Shayla Webber had 16 kills and Luoma added 12. Webber let the team with five aces.  Makenna Bushman had 12 digs and Webber nine.

On Friday, Joliet beat Shepherd in four games; 25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Bushman led the team with 12 kills and Webber and Nowak each added 11. Webber had 28 assists and Luoma 17. Webber had 5 aces and Nowak and Bushman each had three.  Webber had 14 digs and Bushman with 10. Bushman also had 1.5 blocks.

Coach Webber said the team is “finding out how to fight when they have those down moments and are working well as a team.”

Joliet travels to Roundup today, and then plays in the Huntley Tournament on Saturday.



Laurel picked up a win in five games on Saturday against Sidney to move to 4-5 in the Eastern A Conference. They dropped their first and third games but won the final two to take the match at home; 22-25, 25-17 23-25 25-15 15-13. 

Saige Weimer led the team with 16 kills and Keeli Harris had 11. Sophia Timm had 25 assists and Weimer had 7 of the teams 13 aces. The Locomotives had 71 team digs with Jessica Lefever leading with 22. Riley Chapman had half of the Loco’s blocks, accounting for 3.5.

Laurel hosts Miles City tonight at 7 p.m., and Lewistown on Saturday at 4 p.m.


Park City

Park City dropped a match in five games at home against Roberts on Saturday; 19-25, 18-25, 25-19 25-14 and 13-15. Blakely Verke lead the Lady Panthers in 4 of 5 statistical categories, having 7 aces, 11 digs, three blocks and 23 assists. Alyx Grabowska led the team in kills with 11.

Park City is on the road this week, traveling to Belfry today and to the Huntley Tournament on Saturday.
