Virginia Lee Davis Black

Virginia Lee Davis Black, 84, passed away March 5, 2017, at The Crossings in Laurel, Montana. Virginia was born on May 15, 1932, at the Pitchfork Ranch in Wyoming to Myrtle Iva Barham Davis and Harry Lewis Davis. She was the third of five children.
Virginia grew up and was educated in Cody, Wyoming. She married Richard A. Black on July 5, 1951, in Vancouver Washington.
Virginia was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She was a 20-year member of the Girls Scouts, a Sunday School Teacher, M.Y.F. Leader, and member of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Virginia and Dick were instrumental in organizing the Laurel AAU Track and Field Club in the 1960s. She enjoyed supporting every activity that her daughters participated in. As a grandmother she was an ardent supporter of her grandchildren's endeavors. She proudly wore Colstrip, Montana Tech and Bronc Nation gear. Virg watched her grandchildren and great grandchildren in sporting events, school concerts, performances and dance recitals across the state of Montana. She was an endearing and loving friend to many. What she lacked in stature she made up with in spirit.

Ida Helen Hodson, sister of Cody, Wyoming and many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Francis Roney, and brothers George and Jerry Davis.
Services will March 9, 2017 at the Shiloh Methodist Church Billings at 10 a.m. Sara Neff will serve as officiant.
