On Thursday, Sept. 12 at approximately 8 a.m. Laurel Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Laurel Taco Bell. A subject in a maroon Dodge pickup and wearing a Halloween mask pulled into the drive–thru and ordered a large soda. When the individual got to the window, he handed a note to the cashier demanding money while pointing a handgun at them. The suspect then fled down South 1st Ave. LPD requested an agency assist from the Montana Highway Patrol and the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, but they were unable to locate the vehicle.

During the subsequent investigation, Detective Joel Sauter of the Laurel PD spoke with a customer who was in Taco Bell during the robbery. He learned a subject wearing a mask had been seen in the Walmart parking lot in a pickup a few minutes prior to the robbery. After reviewing security footage with a loss prevention officer at Walmart, the suspect was seen entering the store and making a purchase, then leaving the parking lot in a pickup matching the one seen in the Taco Bell surveillance video.

Anyone who can identify the male or who has any information about this crime call the Laurel Police Department at 628–8737.
