South Elementary had a fun afternoon last week doing the Only One You project for the second year in a row. This project is based off of the book “Only One You” by Linda Kranz.  All eight classes joined together for a time to paint, laugh and socialize with their friends. The students got to paint a rock that was unique to them. The story talks about

a little fish getting sent out into

the world, but before going on his journey his parents give him some words of wisdom. The biggest takeaway South School staff wanted the students to know was this quote from the book: “There is only one you in this great big world; make it a better place.”

Five Star Pool & Spa donated all of the supplies to make the project possible. They also came and painted with the students. The National Junior Honor Society (Middle School) came over and helped set up, paint and play with the kids at recess.

The rocks will stay at the school to help decorate the front rock bed areas. South School wants a little piece of their students to stay with them as they go on to their new adventures.
