The Laurel Women in Business, Inc. met recently at Taco Bell. The group is making plans for its annual Snow Prince and Snow Princess contest.

The contest is open to all kindergarten children. Application forms will be taken to the school. The school secretary will give the forms to the teachers, who in turn, will had them out to the children for their parents to fill out.

The dates to apply are Oct.9-24. Forms will be picked up at the school on Oct. 25, by a LWB member. If anyone’s child fails to receive an application, the forms will also be available at the Laurel Outlook.

Voting for the contestants will take place at the Altana Federal Credit Union from Oct. 26-Nov. 14. People wishing to vote for the boys and girls will do so by pledging a penny per vote for the child of their choice.

The boy and girl who have received the most votes (money raised) will be declared the 2018 Snow Prince and Snow Princess.

The winners will be announced at a party hosted by LWB members Saturday, Nov. 17, for all contes- tants and families. The prince and princess will have the privilege to serve as the grand marshals in the Christmas to Remember lighted parade in downtown Laurel on Sunday, Dec. 2.

LWB will use the money raised from the contest to provide a scholarship for a 2019 graduating senior. the organization believes this is an activity that is fun for the kindergarten students and benefits a gradua- tion senior.
