Snow and ice at underpass a hazard for walkers

Thursday, February 28, 2019

A big thank you is due to both Reese and Ray’s IGA and the Locomotive Inn. These are the only businesses along South First Ave. between Railroad St. and SE 4th St. that keep their sidewalks free of snow and safe for pedestrians. And, the City of Laurel has yet to come up with a plan to remove snow from the sidewalks in the underpass between Main and Railroad Streets. Three recent snow storms have resulted in multiple layers of ice and snow. There are many people who use these walkways to do their shopping and to go to and from their jobs.
