Police Report - 3/23/17

Mischief and thievery dominate crime scene

Laurel
The following represent a portion of the calls responded to by officers from the Laurel Police Department. Unless otherwise indicated, all cases are considered under investigation. Anyone with information about these or other crimes is encouraged to call the LPD at 628-8737.
• On March 13, at 7:28 a.m., a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe was reported stolen from the 500 block of Elm. It had a checkbook and other valuables in it.
• On March 13, at 7:50 a.m. a theft was reported on the 200 block of S. 8th Ave. A battery charger was stolen.
• On March 13, at 8:02 a.m., there was a report of suspicious activity on the 1400 block of W. Maryland Dr., Someone in the area found a dead animal that had been placed on the windshield of a vehicle. Marcus Ortega, 18; Anthony Santore, 18; and Colton Kersey, 18, were charged with disorderly conduct in the matter.
• On March 13, at 11:26 p.m., a 16-year-old male from Laurel was cited with minor in possession of alcohol.
• On March 16, at 4:57 a.m., a vehicle was entered by breaking out a window. A pink purse was stolen. The window was valued at $300.
• On March 16, at 8:17 p.m., a city warrant was served on Andrian Fisk, 24, of Butte, at the Yellowstone County Detention Center.

Stillwater County
• On Mar. 15, at 3:30 p.m., at Park City High School on 2nd Ave. SW Ave., deputies responded to reports of vandalism. No arrests were made.
• On Mar. 15, at 11:32 p.m., on I-90 at mile marker 429 west bound, a vehicle was pulled over for having no brake lights or tail lights and swerving all over road. The male driver was given a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a license, having no tail lights and being a habitual offender. The licensed passenger took over as driver.
• On Mar. 16, at 6:13 p.m., on 3rd St., SW, responders contacted the Park City ambulance to transport an 87-year-old female that was having difficulty breathing. She was safely transported to hospital.
• On Mar. 17, at 3:14 p.m., on I-90 mm 417.8 and the Pine Crest underpass, a large area of black smoke was reported in the Pine crest subdivision. Park City Fire Department was advised and learned that owners of home had let a controlled burn get out of control. The fire was extinguished.
• On Mar. 18, at 1:44 p.m., at 524 Cemetery Rd., a homeowner reported that a mailbox had been vandalized. The problem has occurred before and deputies promised to patrol area more closely.
• On Mar. 18, at 8:32 p.m., at the Homestead on 1st Ave., SW Ave, a caller reported finding a turtle that had been missing from the previous week. Police contacted the owner and both parties agreed that the new family that found the turtle could keep it.
• On Mar. 19, at 12:45 p.m., off of North Frontage Rd., witnesses reported a small child who seemed to be lost and wandering alone. SCSO deputies and a Yellowstone County Deputy eventually found the child and returned him to his mother and grandmother.
• On Mar. 19, at 4:49 p.m., on the 300 block of 1st Ave., SW Ave, multiple complaints were made because of a flyer from a church in Billings that was delivered with the Billings Gazette and contained a death threat. “We’re going to have to kill him,” read the flyer. The note was on a yellow notebook paper and listed the church services of Harvest Church. The flyer was in reference to Jesus and the upcoming Easter celebration.
