The Laurel Exchange Club and members of the Laurel Garden Club planted pinwheels Saturday morning, April 6, by the underpass in Fireman’s Park on the corner of Main St. and 1st Ave.

There are about 350 pinwheels planted around the edge of the flower bed. Every year the Exchange Club hopes to add more and more pinwheels to their display.

The blue pinwheels (Pinwheels for Prevention) signify the club’s support for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Residents can buy the blue pinwheels for $1 from the Family Tree Center in Billings by calling 252-9799. Residents can put them in their yard to show their support and also by wearing blue throughout the month. Blue support shirts can be bought at the Albertsons Grocery store in Billings at 6th St. W. and Central Ave. for $15.

Planting pinwheels are just one of the many activities the Laurel Exchange Club participates in to make Laurel a stronger community. The public can find the club online at www.facebook.com/laurelexchangeclub and their websites at www.laurelexchangeclub.org.
