Park City teachers awarded PTA grants

The Park City Parent Teacher Association’s primary aim in Park City is to use their voice and fundraising skills to work with families, students, teachers and administrators to help with the education of all students in the school. One of the group’s recent activities was to give teacher totes filled with supplies on Valentine’s Day to all the teachers at the school for use in their classrooms.
The PTA voted to offer grant money this school year to help teachers fulfill a dream list they might have for a project in their classroom. Any teacher who was interested in the grant put in a request. The PTA this year awarded five teachers their requests.
The five winners are Ms. Mayes who was awarded $132 to purchase four Settlers of Catan games for her 9-12th grades ocial studies classes.
Ms. Metzger received $100 to be used to furnish a reading nook area in her classroom.
Mrs. Hamilton was awarded $100 to purchase a new set of thesaurus books for her classroom.
Mrs. Harper received $143.60 to purchase eight robotic kits to use in her fourth through sixth-grade science classes.
Ms. Delaney will use her $100 to pay for gas for the 2th grade Environmental Science class trip to Yellowstone National Park.
