The Panthers coasted to a win over Ekalaka (Carter County) 36–0 on Halloween to advance to the quarterfinals in the State C 8–man playoffs. They now host the #2 seed in the North, Shelby, who defeated Superior/Alberton 60–14 on Saturday.

Coach Mark Rathbun said, “I feel like we played a very good team game versus Carter County on Saturday. The boys were pretty sound in executing their assignments throughout the game.”

Park City took a 6–0 lead into the second quarter on a 10–yard Tucker Johnstone run and a failed two–point conversion. With 11:07 left in the quarter Jacob Gauthier connected with Colby Coleman on a 26–yard TD pass. After a successful Taetin Kindsfather run on the 2–point conversion the Panthers went up 14–0. Garrett Zimdars scored on a 5–yard run and the defense held to take a 20–0 halftime lead.

Park City scored on a 41–yard Zimdars run and a 1–yard Gauthier run with successful conversions on a Kindsfather run and a Gaurthier to Johnstone pass to take the 36–0 lead into the 4th, which turned out to be the final score.

The Panthers finished the game with 27 rushes for 186 yards and 3/8 passing for 82 yards.

Now Park City hosts Shelby at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. Coach Rathbun said, “Shelby is a very good team who, like us, dropped the first game and has played pretty well since then. We are looking forward to hosting them and leaving it all out there on the field.”
