The Panthers (5-4) finished their season on a high note after defeating Absarokee at home on Senior Night, 57-0.
Coach Mark Rathbun said, “We had a successful season and finished with a well-played game against Absarokee. We finished just a couple of points away from a repeat trip to the playoffs.”
Park City got off to a fast start on a 5-yard Carson Baker run and successful 2-point conversion with 9:25 in the first quarter. Five minutes later senior Rylan Gauthier caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Connor McNeil. A successful extra point gave them the 15-0 lead when the quarter ended.
The Panthers scored four times in the second quarter and the defense held the Huskies scoreless to take the 43-0 halftime lead. Corbin Downing scored on a 9-yard run, Seth Popp on a 2-yard run, Gauthier on a 58-yard reception from McNeil, and Garret Zimdars on a 4-yard run.
In the third quarter Zimdars scored on a 6-yard run and McNeil had a defensive score on a punt block.
After a scoreless fourth quarter, Park City got the 57-0 victory and finished 5-4 on the season and in 5th place in the league.
Panther seniors Joshua Seabrook and Seth Hammel had big defensive games, combining for five sacks on the night.
“I would like to thank the three seniors [Gauthier, Seabrook, Hammel] for a job well done this season. I look forward to seeing what the Panthers accomplish this off season and next year on the field,” Rathbun said.
