Park City fell behind early against Ennis and couldn’t catch up, falling 50-12 at home on Friday to the defending state champions.
The Mustangs scored the first five touchdowns of the game, going up 34-0 before Connor McNeil connected on a pass to Rylan Gauthier in the second quarter. The Panthers only other score came on a 20-yard pass from McNeil to Seth Popp in the third quarter.
Park City had 147 yards rushing and 90 yards passing for the game.
Park City (4-3) sits in solo fifth place in the conference and still has playoff hopes, as the top four teams qualify.
The Panthers travel to Joliet tomorrow for a rivalry game against the J-Hawks (6-1), who are tied for first atop the conference with Tri-City and Ennis. The Panthers host Absarokee (3-4) on Oct. 19 and a pair of wins would give them a solid chance to return to the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Kickoff in Joliet is at 7 p.m. tomorrow evening.
