O’Donnell plans to play baseball at Northwestern

Mason O’Donnell, the son of Ron and Shauna, is a 5-10 utility player from Laurel High School. O’Donnell is transferring to Northwestern from Montana State University in Bozeman following his freshman year. O’Donnell has been playing baseball for the legion team, the Laurel Dodgers this summer, where he has hit 0.395 in 65 games with 68 RBI and 68 runs scored. He also has 19 stolen bases in 23 attempts and has an 11-0 record with a 1.17 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched. O’Donnell was named All-Conference as a junior.
O’Donnell, a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society, plans to major in Business/Economics while at Northwestern.
“We are very thrilled Mason will be joining us,” said head coach Brian Wede. “He has a strong skill set that can help a team in many ways. He has the ability to play every position on the diamond including catcher, shortstop, and pitcher. I anticipate that Mason will find a way to contribute to our team through one of the many talents he has.”
