Brandi Fox, the newest counselor at Laurel High School is ready for “whatever walks through her door,” she said.
Fox has been a school counselor for 13 years, but this year is her first in Laurel. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology at Montana State University in Bozeman and received her masters degree in counseling at Montana State University Billings. In her free time, Fox enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
“My favorite part of counseling is when the kids have some sort of success—whether it’s athletic, academic, or something outside of school—and they come and tell me about it,” she said.
Previously, Fox worked in Deer Lodge, a school with just 200 students. The transition from Deer Lodge to Laurel has been “a pleasant change,” she said.
“I believe that the most important aspect in a learning environment is that the students feel safe,” the counselor said. She hopes she can help Laurel students with any issues they may have and will gladly help them celebrate their successes.
