Mitchell Clavadetscher is a 5th grader at LMS. He lives with his parents and 3 brothers.  His favorite vacation with them was when he went to Wisconsin as he was able to meet a lot more people in his family. He loves his animals: 1 fish, 2 dogs and 3 cats! Mitchell is excited to join the Cross Country team as a 6th grader as well as be in band. His favorite class is reading because it comes easy to him and he has had great teachers which makes it better for learning. Be- cause Mitchell feels he is small, he would love to be a giraffe for a day so he could see what it is like to be tall! His favorite holiday is Halloween because of all the candy and being able to dress up. If he could play hide and seek in the Middle School, he would hide in the janitor’s closet because there are so many shelves to climb on!

Autumn Strawbridge is a 5th grader at LMS.  She lives with her mom and stepdad, a little sister and a baby brother.  She has not lived in Laurel her whole life. She was born in Billings and has lived in Great Falls.  She has a turtle named Shelly who lives in a tank. Her favorite subject in school is Reading and Math. She likes reading because she likes her teacher and loves to read the Twilight Series.  She likes Math because she likes her teacher and it is challenging and fun! If she could be any animal for a day, she would be a German Shepard because she could help police officers with their investigations.  When she grows up, she would like to work as a police officer in Missoula and help peo- ple with intoxications and drug problems. Autumn would like to visit California because she would like to go to Disneyland. She really wants to see Mickey and Goofy.  There is a haunted house in Disneyland near Hal- loween, which she thinks would be pretty fun. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and she likes to be scared sometimes and watch scary movies in October like the movie It. Autumn would hide in the kitchen if she had to play hide and seek in the school because then she could eat while she was waiting to be found!

Davin Graves is a 5th grader at LMS. He lives with his parents and two older sisters. With his mom being a math teacher at the high school, Davin loves math the best as he said he knows a lot about it because of her. He plays Little Guy football and would love to be a cheetah so he could run faster! His favorite vacation spot was Disneyworld, as he loved spending time with his family. His favorite holiday is Christmas because he can kick back and relax. If he had the opportunity to play hide and seek at the middle school, he thinks he would search out the best cabinet to hide in.

Taylor Slyder is a 5th grader at LMS. She lives with her par- ents, Matt and Michelle, and a whole lot of pets! She has a bearded dragon, 1 dog,  3 kittens, 3 horses and 20 head of cattle. Taylor’s favorite classes are math and reading. She loves the challenge of math class and loves reading and doing the worksheets in class. When she is older, she wants to play bas- ketball and volleyball for LMS. If she could be any animal, she would choose an eagle as they fly really high and can see the world from above! They are also protected so she would feel safe. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because she gets new things and gets to be with her family. She had quite the vacation this sum- mer in the Bahamas, spending lots of time in the ocean and even swimming with nurse sharks! If she could play hide and seek at the middle school, she would hide in the Commons where you get your food, as she doesn’t feel anyone would find her there!

Emery Fox is a Sixth Grader at Laurel Middle School. She has an older (Lexie) and a younger sister (Peyton), two great parents (Koree and Zach), two amazing dogs and four bunnies. She loves to manage Middle School Volleyball and her favorite subject is math. If she could be any animal she would want to be a dog because they could either sleep all day or be playful. Her favorite vacation was when she went to Florida and rode in her first air- plane ride. She loves Christmas because she gets to spend time with her family that she does not get to see very often.  If she was to choose a hiding spot in the school while playing Hide & Seek she would hide in the office because there are lots of rooms there.

Michael Mooreman is a Sixth Grader at Laurel Middle School. He has two siblings, Madison and Mikayla who are kind, and his parents are Clint and Traci who are loving. He also has a cat named Hercules. He loves STEAM and math class because they are really fun. If he could be any animal it would be an eagle because they can fly. He would love to go to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower and eat croissants. His favorite holiday is Christmas because he gets to spend time with his family. If he was to choose a hiding spot in the school while playing Hide & Seek he would hide in the teacher’s lounge because there is food there.

Sarah Spini is a Sixth Grader at Laurel Middle School. Sarah states that her family is amazing. She lives with her dad (Michael) her mom (Monica), her little sis- ter Sophia and she has a  sweet yellow lab Daisy. Sarah enjoys her STEAM class, band class and loves ELA.  She enjoys writing and loves to read any chance she can get.  Sarah has been on many fun vacations. She’s been everywhere from the Oregon coast to Las Vegas. They were all really fun trips, but she’s always want- ed to go to Paris. If she could go to Paris, she would ride a tandem bicycle, try every sweet and go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.  If Sarah could play Hide & Seek at school, she would hide in the library because it is her favorite place to be!

Colton Torno is a 6th grader at LMS. Colton lives with his two great parents, three sisters, two brothers, and a great dog.  Colton used to play baseball, but next year wants to play football for Laurel. Colton says that his favorite subject is math because he feels he does the best in math class.  If Colton could be any animal, he would be a bear be- cause “it is my favorite animal and it’s cool”. Colton has always wanted to go to Disneyland, and one day he hopes he gets to visit there.  Colton’s favorite holiday is Christmas because “it’s not just about presents, it’s also Je- sus’ birthday”. If Colton were to ever play Hide & Seek at school, he says that he “would hide under my favorite teacher’s desk and be really quiet so that they couldn’t find me.”

Taryn Handegard is a Seventh Grader at Laurel Middle School. She has many family members: her mom (Michelle), her dad (Eric), her older sister (Bergen), her two dogs (Jager and Aksell), and her two cats (Loki and Boris). Taryn loves to spend her time outside of school in a martial arts program called Aikido. Her favorite subject in school is reading and she loves to continue to read as a way to relax after a long day at school. If she could be an animal for a day she would want to be a pug because they are so cute. Her favorite vacation was a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. She loved seeing Mount Rushmore. Christmas is Taryn’s favorite holiday because she loves getting together with her family and spending the day cooking, laughing and eating. She enjoys making cookies, candy and de- livering these sweet treats to her neighbors. If she were to choose a hiding spot in the school for hide and seek, she would hide in the maintenance office because there is a lot of nooks and crannies to hide under.

Jena Jares is a Seventh Grader at Laurel Middle School. Her family means everything to her. Joni and Justin (her parents), Jered (her older brother), Jacey and Josie (her younger sisters), and Jonah (her younger brother) are always there to support her in everything she does. Other important people in Jena’s life include her best friends Paige, Molly, and Bianca, her teachers and the whole LMS staff. Jena is involved in Cross Country and Storm Soccer. She used to be involved in Scouts and Art Club. Jena’s favorite subject is reading/ writing. She loves to write and come up with stories to tell. She feels like reading is easy and she enjoys it very much. If she could be an animal for a day she would want to be a jellyfish because she loves the ocean. She says if she could just swim around and explore it would be so much fun. She is also curious how a jellyfish can move around with tentacles. The best trip she has ever been on is when her family went to Hawaii a couple of years ago. They got to eat delicious food, play at the beach, stay at a nice hotel and enjoy the heat. She would love to go there again. Jena’s favorite holiday is Christ- mas because she gets to hang out with family and celebrate the day Christ was born. She says everything about the holiday feels magical and wonderful. If Jena were to play hide and seek at school she would hide in the office or the room in the back of the gym. She thinks it would be so fun and such a great idea.

Samuel Norman is a Seventh Grader at Laurel Middle School. Sam has four people in his fam- ily. He has his mom (Jenny), his dad (Jesse), and a little sis- ter (Avery). He also has one pet cat named Lindy. Sam’s favorite subject in school is PE/Health because he likes Mr. Hansen. If he could be one animal for a day he would be a tiger because he would want to be bigger than all of the other cats in the jungle. Once place Sam would like to go is Phoenix, Arizona because he would want to watch the Phoenix Open or the Waste Management Golf Tournament. Sam’s favorite holiday is Christmas because of the time you get to spend with your family. If Sam were to play hide and seek at school he would hide in a bathroom stall and sit on the tops of the stall doors.

Levi Love is a Seventh Grader at Laurel Middle School. Levi has many important people in his life including his mom (Connie), and brothers (Cooper and Hayden). His brothers have been major role models for him. They have shown him the value of hard work and goal setting. They continue to be an inspiration to Levi and a reminder to work hard. Levi is the running back for the football team. He is also on the wrestling team. Levi does service activities with his church on a weekly basis. This helps him see what is going on in the community and what he can do to help it. His favorite subject in school is Advanced PE. He learns a lot of stuff in there from Mr. Hansen. Mr. Hansen is really funny and fun to be around. There is a good group of students in there that make the class fun. If Levi had to pick an animal for a day, he would be a turtle to see a different perspective on life and to be slower. His favorite vacation was when he went to Hawaii with his mom and brothers. He got to see the entire island of Oahu. They were able to Scuba dive, visit Pearl Harbor and attend a luau. It was a good memory to have with his mom and brothers. Levi’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because it brings his family together for one day of the year. He loves to hear how people are doing and where they have been. If Levi were to play hide and seek, he would hide in Mr. Hansen’s office be- cause no one is stupid enough to poke that bear.

Reegan O’Rear is the 8th grade’s first LMS Star. She is the daughter of Koby and Jason O’Rear. She has a brother, Evan, at the high school, and notes that her Aunt Kelsey is an inspiration to her. She is involved in WEB, Honor Club, and Volleyball. She also is involved in BB gun competitions. If Reegan could go on vacation anywhere she would go to Barcelona, Spain. She was told that her family originated there and she’d also like to see a Picasso in the art museum there. Reegan was chosen as a Star because she is helpful to others, she is focused on doing great work and she has a great sense of humor.

Our next 8th grade Star is Brody Stutterheim. Brody was chosen for his ability to think outside the box, his level of par- ticipation and his kindness. He has a lot of respect for his par- ents, Paul and Lisa. Brody is very involved in football, wres- tling and youth group. He credits sports as a great way to build brotherhood among teammates. If Brody had to play hide and seek at the school, he thinks the custodian’s closet would be the winning spot. His favorite class is computer science.

Ashton Ulshak is our next LMS Star for the 8th grade. Ash- ton is a member of the football, wrestling and track teams at LMS and is an active member of WEB and Honors Club as well. His parents are Eric and Carla and he has a brother, Connor, at the high school. His fam- ily is rounded out with two dogs named Otto and Kodi. Ashton would love to go to New Zealand someday and hunt and fish. If he could be any animal for a day, he would be an eagle to fly free and also enjoy being protected from human harm. Ashton is a thorough worker that turns in work that is above the norm in all of his classes. He is very bright and asks great questions.

Our last 8th grade LMS Star is Abby Wagner. Abby is the daughter of Matt and Brigid and she is the middle sister with older sister Grace and younger sister Sophie. Abby was chosen as a Star for her exceptional work ethic and sunny personality. She is kind to others and is a role model for her peers. She is a member of 4-H Ruff Riders and LMS Honors Club and is in- volved in volleyball, basketball and track. She also travels on club teams. Her favorite holiday is the Fourth of July because she enjoys seeing people celebrate their love for the country, which ties in perfectly with history being her favorite class.
