Margaret M. ‘Margy’ Shay

Margaret M. “Margy” Shay, 74, of South Whitehall Township, Penn., died on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Penn. She and her husband, Robert H. Shay, would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on February 8th. Born in Billings, MT, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Hageter) Bjorum. She graduated from Laurel High School and attended the University of Idaho. Margy worked in the insurance and travel industries and loved to travel herself. She was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, and recent grandmother. Margy was a faith-filled member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown and the Divine Mercy Cenacle at the church, where she had earlier volunteered in the St. Thomas More School library. She was a long-time prayer group member with her loving prayer sisters.

Survivors: Husband; Daughter, Cara S. Shay; Son, Brendan R. Shay and his wife Vicki R.; Sister, Marilyn “Mimi” Pattison; Brothers, William and Michael Bjorum; and Granddaughter, Makena Shay. She was preceded in death by a Brother, Gregory Bjorum.

Services, including a Mass of Christian Burial, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, Penn. A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
