Lydia Katie Ostwald

Lydia Katie Ostwald, age 84, entered Heaven's gates on Dec 24, 2016. Lydia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and in the presence of her Savior.
Lydia was born on August 28, 1932, in Billings, Mont. and was a long time resident of Laurel. Lydia was devoted to her family and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lydia was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor and will missed by all that knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her four children: Cindy Hagel, Vicky Metzger, Jennifer Ostwald and Leo Ostwald as well as her son-in-law Albert Metzger, daughter-in-law Sara Ostwald, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two loving sisters and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec 29, 2016, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home located at 315 East 3rd St., in Laurel. A celebration of Lydia's life will be held Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Laurel First Congregational Church.
