The defending Class A State Champion Laurel Locomotives completed a perfect 8–0 regular season after routing the Havre Blue Ponies at home on Thursday 42–7.

They have a first round bye this week and are the overall #1 seed in the Class A State playoffs which begin this week.

Against Havre, the Locos jumped out to a 35–0 lead at the half on two touchdown runs by Beau Dantic (1 yard, 23 yards) and three Kyson Moran TD passes (34 yards to Dalton Boehler, 16 yards to Emmet Renner and 17 yards to Konnor Gregerson).

In the second half Owen Wilcox punched it in from four yards out to put Laurel up 42–0 before Havre got their lone score in the 4th.

Kyle DeSmet was 6–6 on extra point attempts in the game.

Laurel had 331 yards of offense in the game including 182 rushing and 149 passing yards.

Moran was perfect at quarterback, completing 10/10 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns.

Dantic had two rushing TDs and 63 yards on five carries and Renner had five receptions for 59 yards and one TD reception.

The Locos had 19 first downs and no turnovers in the game.

Laurel won’t know who they play until after this weekend’s reshuffle, but will host the highest remaining seed after the first round is complete.
