LHS Hall of Fame induction ceremony rescheduled

The 2021 Laurel High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which was cancelled this winter due to COVID–19 concerns, has been rescheduled for the April 24th track meet at the Laurel Sports Complex.

The 2021 LHS Hall of Fame inductees are:

Individual

• Tomme Wilson: State Champion Track Coach and State Champion assistant basketball coach

• Robert “Mike” Wood: State Champion Track Athlete

• Connie Kellison Cole: State Champion Track Athlete

• Lysa Fox: Exceptional achievements in Fine Arts

• Richard Helterbran: Service Award Winner

Team

• 1978–80 Boys Track: Three consecutive State Championships

Any athletes (or their family members) from the following track teams or their families are invited to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony which is tentatively scheduled for between 8:30 and 9 a.m. on April 24:

1978 — Head coach: Tom Wilson. Assistant Coaches: Wayne Hackney, Larry Wedel, Rick Ronan, Joe Russell and Gary Pederson. Athletes: Mike Wood, Tim Russell, Paul Wagner, Tom Russell, Craig Hazen and Brad Dantic.

1979 — Head coach: Tom Wilson. Assistant Coaches: Wayne Hackney, Larry Wedel, Rick Ronan, Joe Russell and Gary Pederson. Athletes: Brad Dantic, Craig Hazen, Jeff Richmond, Steve Rodgers, Chad Bladow and Mark Elsenpeter.

1980 — Head coach: Tom Wilson. Assistant Coaches: Wayne Hackney, Larry Wedel, Rick Ronan, Joe Russell and Gary Pederson. Athletes: Brad Dantic, Craig Hazen, Rich Wallace, Chad Bladow, Kelly Braswell, Richie Helterbran and Monty Hoppell. Manager: Robert Morrissey.
