LHS band and choir do well at state

Photo by David Keyes. The outstanding Laurel High School choir held an energetic and wonderful spring concert Tuesday night. The many groups sang hits from the 70s and 80s and featured everything from Johnny Cash to Michael Jackson to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. The choir graduates 26 seniors.

Laurel High School band and choir participants did very well at the recent state competition held in Billings.

The results include the group and its score.

Major props to Michelle Maurer who works with many of our flute players in private lessons.  She also did a lot of accompanying this weekend which meant walking/running a marathon from room to room.

The kids performed exceptionally well.  There were a few perfect scores.  The Jazz Band brought the house down.

Choir students had a great state music festival. The judges had some great comments and good techniques for working with all of the students.  The kids represented LHS well with their poise, confidence and good character.
