Lawrence was born March 8, 1951 in Billings to Floyd and Luella Luke. He was the second born of five siblings. Affectionately known as Uncle Dean, or Uncle Ding to his great nephew, he was a man who loved his family more than anything. He was the man who would stand up for any woman or animal he saw being treated unwell and he had the stature to pull it off and protect the perfect stranger. A soft spoken man who wore his heart on his sleeve and a man of his word, Dean spent just shy of 32 years with the love of his life and soulmate, Sharon (Rose) Luke, who he married in July 1989. He spent every morning playing scrabble and cards with her after bringing her a cup of coffee. Even though she ‘held the ‘S’s’ all 32 years. He loved to take fishing trips and did so even in his last years when he didn’t always feel so well. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke he lit up the room with his quick witty humor. He spoke two languages: humor and love. Those of us who were lucky enough to be the closest to him had a safe place of unconditional love from a man who truly would do anything for us. He held especially dear his niece, Michelle, who he would tell anyone was his angel and his Shellie; the bond they shared was special from the moment she was born.?Dean passed March 24, 2021 with his loving wife and his niece at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Everett and Walter Luke and sister Wenda Lou Luke. Left to honor his memory are his wife, Sharon; sister Donna Keele; his special angel and niece, Michelle (Matt) Nedens and their children, Jake and Wilson; sister-in-law Izzy (Jim) Keswick; brothers-in-law Marv (Char) Rose, Pat Rose, and Gene Rose; son Robert; grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, April 3rd at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 4007th Ave in Laurel Montana with Pastor Widdis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings.
