Laurel team wins state bb gun tournament

The Laurel Red team includes Chase Burrows, Nate Moseman, Danny Moseman, Sam Tschacher, Cedar Webb, Annelise Zindler, and Logan Carr.  Coached by Jim Johnson and Tim Moseman.

Laurel’s Shooting Education Program hosted the 2017 state bb gun tournament April 8 and 9. One-hundred-seventeen kids from 19 teams across the state participated in the two day event.  Teams consist of five shooters and up to two alternates. The kids shoot from four positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling. They also have to complete a written test that counts towards their score.  

Six teams from Laurel participated and the Laurel Blue team won the tournament with a score of 2319 59X.

Paige Mayhall from Billings had a perfect prone score of 100 6X that helped her win the Top Gun Award. Evan O’Rear from Laurel participated in a test-off to win the Top Tester Award.  Mayhall also took home the Top Aggregate (shooting and testing combined).

Officiating the match was Irve Wilke assisted by Kevin Emineth and Bill Monsieur.

Laurel shooters included members of six different teams.

The Laurel Black team includes Ava Styles, Brody Stutterheim, Kian Kogelmann, Jordyn Heimer, and Tanner Knaub. They are coached by Cory Styles and Jeremy Heimer

The Laurel Orange team includes Brayden Bennington, Dillon Turner, Aiden Pointer, Brynn Bennington, Carson Kojetin, and Rikyn Milliron. The team is coached by Buck Bennington and Mark Turner.

The Electric Grey team from Laurel includes Jocelyn Higgins, Cody Dennis, Connor Emineth, Christopher Dennis and Matthew Emineth. They are coached by Chris Hust and Robert Emineth.
