Laurel suspect arrested in California on felony warrants

At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 the San Bernardino, Calif. Sheriff’s Department advised the Laurel Police Department they had arrested a male who was wanted on felony warrants stemming from an April 28 incident in Laurel. Michael Paul Healy, 34, was wanted on charges of felony assault with a weapon and felony criminal endangerment.

On April 28, 2019 at 4:07 a.m. officers received a report of shots fired on the 2300 block of Atchinson. When law enforcement arrived they found an injured male who had been struck in the head with a handgun and on the knees with a hammer. During the subsequent investigation officers learned Healy and a second male had entered a trailer and assaulted the resident, then fired a shot into the floor. As they fled the scene they fired another shot into the yard. Their vehicle then collided with a trailer on the 2200 block of Atchinson after which four more shots were fired at a vehicle before they fled eastbound. Officers were able to identify Healy and the felony warrants were issued.

The suspect is being held in the San Bernardino County Jail without bond pending extradition to Montana.
