Steele Hansen is one of our awesome 5th Grade Star Students for December and January. Steele is the son of Brandie and Derek and has an adorable younger sister named Taylar. He has a very active Aussie Doodle named Oscar and a cat named Sunny. Steele really enjoys school because he likes to be with his friends and learn! His favorite subject in school is Social Studies because he likes learning about the history of America. He also enjoys PE because he likes to exercise. Outside of school, he likes playing basketball, football and baseball. His favorite sport to play is basketball and he is currently playing on a travel basketball team called the Laurel Steamrollers. Steele really enjoys hanging out with his family. They keep busy hiking, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, and fishing. If Steele could be an animal for a day, he would be an eagle because he would have keen eyesight and he could fly above everything and see for miles. Steele’s favorite family trip was the trip to Mexico last year with his family. He loved snorkeling because he saw sea turtles and colorful coral reef. If he could go anywhere in the world, he would visit Germany because he has family history there. Steele’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because he likes to eat delicious foods such as turkey and mashed potatoes. If Steele could hide anywhere in the middle school, he would hide in boiler room because it is warm and there are many pipes to crawl through. Congratulations Steele on being chosen as a star of the month!

Jeffrey Johnson is a 5th grade Star Student for December and January! Jeffrey is the son of Jeremiah and Devin, and brother to sisters Miah, Maddie, and Lexi. His family loves animals and is complete with dogs Sampson, Cooper, and Olive and cats Beans and Cheetah. Jeffrey’s favorite subject in school is Math because he loves the challenge it gives him. Outside of school, Jeffrey loves to play football. In the fall he plays lineman for the YYF Seminoles. He said they didn’t win many games, but he learned a lot and had fun, and that was the most important thing. If Jeffrey could be any animal for a day it would be a dog because they’re smart, fast, and strong. And if he was lucky enough to be a dog that lived with a family like his, he’d be a super spoiled, and lucky, dog! Jeffrey’s favorite trip with his family was to South Dakota because they got to see Mt. Rushmore. A trip he wants to take is to New Orleans so he could watch his favorite football team, the Saints, play a game. Jeffrey loves Christmas because it’s a day that all of his family comes over to his house. They love to play games, eat good food, and of course, open presents! If Jeffrey decides to hide out in the Middle School, we are going to need to look up high to find him! He thinks climbing to the pipes, just below the ceiling in the hallways, would be the perfect place to hide! He doesn’t think people will look up, he likes to climb things, and it has just enough danger to the hiding place to make it all worthwhile! Congratulations, Jeffrey! Keep up the good work!

Jamisen Harris is one of our 5th grade Star Students for December and January! Jamisen lives with her parents, Teresa and Jerel, and her three sisters, Regan, Peyton, and Emersen. Jamisen loves animals and has 6 pets! She has two dogs, Johnny and Cash, one cat, Angel, and three salamanders, Olive, Oscar, and Sammy. In school, Jamisen loves math as she feels she is good at it. Outside of school, Jamisen enjoys basketball, softball, and her favorite, gymnastics. If she could be an animal, she would choose to be a monkey so she could swing, climb, eat bananas and be silly all day long! One of her favorite family trips was going to California, however, she is really looking forward to going to Hawaii over spring break this year! Her favorite holiday is Christmas as she loves giving and getting presents. If Laurel Middle School was playing a giant game of Hide and Seek, she would hide in an empty Chromebook cart. Being as flexible as she is, I think she would fit just fine! Congratulations, Jamisen, on being chosen as a 5th grade Star Student!

Olyvia’s favorite holiday is Christmas because she gets to spend time with both of her families. She would love to travel to Minnesota to see her grandparents, because she has not seen them very much because they live so far away.
