The Laurel Exchange club met Wednesday, July 19 at their usual meeting place, KC’s Palace. President Ken Gomer announced two new members have joined. One is a representative from Wood’s Powr-Grip and another from Covert Cleaning. With this announcement, it was brought up that the treasurer is still waiting on payment of quarterly dues from several current members.
President Gomer brought up the need for additional speakers for September meetings. Several suggestions were made and supported by the attending members.
The club decided on forming a team for the Walk To End Alzheimers at ZooMontana on Oct.1. Members will need to raise donations for the event and plan to participate as a group. The fundraiser benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. More info can be found at
Member Susan Walters will be heading the School Supplies Drive for the local schools as a representative of the Exchange Club. She will be gathering supplies and donations that will go to the schools. A deadline for donations will be announced at a later date.
In September, the club has decided to assist the Billings Breakfast Exchange Club with their Golf Tournament at Par 3. Club members will be going around Laurel requesting donations from local business. The public is encouraged to participate in this fundraising effort by forming golf teams.
The club decided to have its official Ribbon Cutting event on the one year anniversary of the club’s charter in April. Members noted that will be a perfect time to announce all the club’s successes and progress from its first year.
