The Lady Panthers continued to dominate their opponents this last weekend beating the Lady Scouts of Bridger 40-20 and the Lady Huskies of Absarokee 47-32.
Friday night started with Shelby Kluth draining two free throws due to a Bridger error in their lineup causing a technical. This was followed up by the Panthers forcing errors and taking advantage of the opportunities. A three point shot made by Bridger’s’ Gunn got the Scouts within 10 at the half 22-12. The 3rd quarter started with the possession going to the Scouts but they couldn’t convert. Tehya Ray sent the ball down to the other end where MacKinzie Verke hit a 3. The Panthers outscored the Scouts in the 3rd by 7 and again in the 4th by 3, ending the game with a 20 point lead. Shelby Kluth ended the night with 5-6 from the line and the game high 11 points.
On Saturday the Panthers traveled to Absarokee. Again the Panthers were on the board first with an underneath shot by Shelby Branstetter assisted by a steal and a pass by Tehya Ray. The Panthers went on to score 8 before the Huskies got on the board with 2 from Lamoure. Brittney Frank came off the bench for the Panthers and hit a three midway thru the 2nd to help send the Panthers into halftime up 28-9.The Panthers defense and team ball continued to be the key. Shelby Kluth and MacKinzie Verke ran the floor and ended the game with 14 points each.
The Panthers have two tough games this weekend. They travel to Red Lodge to face the Class B Rams on Friday and take on the Pirates of Broadview/Lavina at home Saturday.
