Lady J-Hawks drop two

A blowout is a blowout no matter what the fans say, but it doesn’t always start out that way. The Joliet girls basketball team wanted to start off the season strong. They came out with the energy of a fresh season, only trailing by six at the end of the first quarter. Holly Nowak had a decent game with eight points, but it wasn’t near enough.

No one on the team reached double digits and by the end of the first half they were down by 12. The girls and their coaching staff gave themselves a chance to make a comeback and make it competitive.

They gave up ten points in the third quarter and only scored three. The game was over. The last quarter didn’t matter and most of the star players had to play garbage time on the court or sit on the bench and watch the game slip further and farther away from their grasps.

Luckily, they had a chance to redeem themselves when they played the Park City Panthers next. Stats and scores are available in the Panthers girls basketball article. See Park City article for second game of tournament: Joliet vs. Park City.
