This was inevitable.

For many years, people thought I lived in Laurel.

And for good reason.

My wife and her family have been part of the Laurel community for more than 100 years.

My wife, her sister and brother are all Laurel High School graduates. As are cousins, aunts and uncles.

We married in Laurel.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Laurel. Some sports related, most family related.

Now we’re back to sports again.

For 32 years, I covered sports in the state of Montana for the newspaper down the road. Some of those stories included Laurel teams, athletes and coaches.

Now I’m coming back to Laurel.

The Laurel Outlook is giving me the opportunity to find sports stories in this terrific community.

That is where I need your help.

There are a lot of great stories in the Outlook coverage area. I need your help to find them.

If you have an idea or a suggestion, please email us at sports@laureloutlook.com.

I can’t promise we will do every story suggestion sent but it will get us off to a running start.

I spent many a Fourth of July, had many a meal in Laurel.

Now I want to do many a story.

Just a note: You might not recognize me. I haven’t had a haircut since May of 2020.
