The J-Hawks got their first loss of the season against the Ennis Mustangs on Friday, falling 58-18.
Coach George Warburton shrugged off the loss, saying, “we had an off night and lost to a solid team. We aren’t going to dwell on it.”
Taylor Rowlison completed seven of 13 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Rylan Olson had six catches for 122 yards, including 23 and 50-yard TD receptions and Brett Robinson had one reception for 7 yards.
Warburton said Robinson was a bright spot on the defense accounting for seven solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles and one pass deflection.
“He was a beast.”
Trey Oswald had one solo and seven assisted tackles, Justin Harris had eight assisted tackles and Caiden Kirby had one solo and five assisted tackles.
The 4-1 Joliet squad is tied for second in the Southern C and faces an undefeated, and conference leading, Tri-City Titans in Hobson at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
“We are looking forward to getting back in the win column on Saturday,” Warburton said.
