Joliet girls win play–in game at Divisionals, boys out after district

The Lady J–Hawks advanced to the Southern B Divisional tournament after beating Baker 59–39 in a play–in game at MetraPark yesterday morning. They face Big Timber today at 3 p.m. at MetraPark in a first round game.

They advanced to the play–in game after taking third in the 4B District tournament by beating Red Lodge 37–32 in the conso lation game on Feb. 27.

They beat Shepherd 40–35 in the opening round game on Feb. 24, then lost to Roundup 44–31 the next day. After taking down Huntley Project 52–31 in a loser–out matchup, they took 3rd to get a shot at getting to Divisionals via the play–in game.

The J–Hawk boys team didn’t advance to Southern B Divisionals after taking 4th in the District 4B tournament last week. They opened with a 56–29 win over Shepherd then got blown out by Huntley Project, 82–40. They rebounded in the loser–out game, beating Roundup 58–52 before losing to Red Lodge 45–35 in the consolation game. Only three teams advance to the Divisional tournament.
