Surrounded by his family, John Lee Hodges, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at St. Vincent's Hospital, after a long and courageous fight against lung disease.

He was born April 5, 1959 in Billings, Montana to Harry and Susie (Brunckhorst) Hodges. He was a 1978 Graduate of Laurel High School. He married Rebecca "Becky" Novasio on September 4, 1982. He was blessed with two children A.J. and Kelsey, two grandsons Deegan and Owen Sage. He built, owned and operated Hodges Welding south of Laurel. John was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather (Papa) and friend.

He was incredibly loyal and full of life, kindhearted and generous, as well as a very skilled welder/fabricator, outdoors man, devoted family man, full of advice with a can do attitude and a true willingness to help others.

He is survived by his wife Becky of Laurel, son A.J., and daughter Kelsey,  both of Laurel; two grandsons Deegan and Owen Sage; sister Micki (Nick) Berner of Billings; nephew Nathan; brother Ric; nephew Cole (Carrie) of Shepherd; Niece Laura (Thomas) Scott of Billings; brother-in-law Tony (Juliette) Novasio of England and Switzerland; nieces Stephanie and Elena; sister-in-law Sara (John) Lamb of Colorado; nieces Breanna and Mackenzie, sister-in-law Selina (George) Weber of Washington; nephews Mitch (Tiana) Barone, Kyle (Christina) Barone, Daniel (Brittany Garner) Barone; niece Savanna (Matthew) Castellano; sister-in-law Gina (Carl) Boone of Texas; nieces Vanessa (Devin) Pike, Alaina, Kaylee and nephew Jared Peers.  Also surviving are sister in law Rachel (David) Boyd, of Colorado; nephews Noah, Jeshua, Ethan and niece Hattie; father-in-law Lewis (Joan) Novasio of Oregon and Daniel; former brothers-in-law Rafe Barone, Randy Peers and George Maddux; and nine great nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 417 W. 9th St., Laurel, Montana, officiated by Pastor Arlo Pullman.
