Jaycees need help for 4th of July breakfast

Thursday, June 20, 2019

The Laurel Jaycees are looking for volunteers to help host the annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. The service organization has a shortage on their team due to medical reasons. They serve hot fresh pancakes, ham, milk, OJ, coffee and a lot of good feelings with friends, family and neighbors to help kick off the great 4th of July in Laurel. They are seeking volunteers for four main sections of the event:

1. Load up and delivery of supplies and equipment on Wednesday July 3rd at approximately 9 a.m. till about noon. They require about six volunteers and five trucks and trailers.

2. Setup of tables/chairs, pancake grills and all supplies on July 4th from approximately 2 a.m. until about 6 a.m. About six volunteers are needed.

3. Flipping pancakes for the many, many family, friends and neighbors coming by to start off their excellent 4th of July in Laurel from approximately 5:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. That takes about 12 volunteers.

4. Cleanup / takedown of equipment and supplies and returning them to the Laurel Jaycee Hall in Riverside Park from 11 a.m. until about 3 p.m.

Contact Howard at 855-9572 by text and the Jaycees will try to respond ASAP (Howard is on the road a lot for his job, but he will keep you posted.)

After this year’s 4th of July the Laurel Jaycees will be deciding how to pass this event on to the next set of folks that would enjoy the opportunity to become a big part of Laurel’s famous 4th of July.
