J-Hawks soar through Districts

Joliet punched it’s ticket to Divisionals early last Friday night in a 63-57 victory over Huntley Project.
The J-Hawks shot 70 percent from the line and only committed nine-turnovers in the win. This was their third time this season they beat Huntley Project.
The win was huge just for the fact that it took the pressure off of them in their championship game Saturday against Roundup.
It wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Joliet took the game 47-35.
The first half of the game was ugly. Both teams couldn’t make a shot and the second quarter ended with Joliet only scoring three total points for the quarter and Roundup with five.
The second half was another tale entirely.
“One of our better halves of the year,” said coach John Nelson.
Joliet’s captains Wyatt Kramer and Ty Olson both had 11 and played fantastic games.
“It was a total team effort,” Nelson said. “Logan and Brett held one of the best players in the state to just nine points.”
It was an amazing accomplishment for Joliet as this was their first basketball trophy since they joined the Class-B conference.
The boys now have some time off to practice and prepare for Colstrip.
They play March 2, at noon, in the Metra Park Billings Arena in the Class-B Divisional tournament.
