Joliet jumped out to an early lead but eventually fell to the Vikings, 68-38. The J-Hawks (8-2) had a successful first season in their return to the 8-man ranks.

Joliet held an 8-0 lead in Charlo after the first quarter of Saturdays first round 8-man playoff game, but were outscored 68-30 over the next three quarters, falling to the Vikings 68-38.

Coach George Warburton said “I couldn’t be more proud of our kids and coaches. We lost to a good team in Charlo. We came out and scored right away, our defense forced a fumble and we gained some momentum. Charlo made adjustments and they were just too much for us to contain.”

The Joliet seniors had solid games, with quarterback Taylor Rowlison finishing his high school football career with an excellent performance, passing for 318 yards with five touchdowns and a lone interception.

Fellow senior Brett Robinson had 18 rushes for 91 yards, and 9 receptions for 78 yards and a TD. On defense he had 5 1/2 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Trey Oswald had 15 rushes for 82 yards and a TD, and two catches for 27 yards and a TD.

Junior Rylan Olson had 10 receptions for 204 yards with 25, 69 and 42-yard TDs.

The J-Hawks finished the season with an excellent 8-2 record and Warburton is excited for the future of the program.

“Our first year back in the 8-man rans was successful and we are looking forward to next year already.”

He added, “I would like to give a special thanks to the parents and fans who drove all the way to Charlo (and all the games throughout the season), we have the best support out there.”
